Schools Participation
Badminton as a sport is perfect to play in a primary or post primary school as is allows a class of pupils to play and enjoy the sport safely in a large or small space. It is also a sport that boys and girls can play together without the need to change the rules or regulations. A sports hall with lined badminton courts with nets and posts is ideal but play can take place in an assembly hall with limited space and equipment or with some portable equipment that is cheap and easily stored.
Ulster Badminton currently offer support to many primary and post primary schools across the province and we are keen to grow the number of schools that we currently work with. We run many programmes in partnership with local authorities looking to provide for schools in their local area. We run numerous festivals, coaching programmes, competitions and teacher support events annually to allow us to introduction the sport to a new audience and to grow the sport within schools.
