Badminton Ireland Awards 2018
The 2018 Badminton Ireland Awards took place on Saturday 1st December at Clayton Hotel, Dublin with Ulster Emerging Performance Squad player winning the young Player of the Year Category.
It has been a fantastic season so far for Matthew in both Ireland and Europe winning numerous U15 & U17 titles. Arguable his biggest win of the season so far came recently at the Colchester U15 Gold Star were he won the Boy's singles. The Gold star event are only for the top 16 ranked players in the UK which highlights the level of competition he is not only competing at but winning. He is very dedicated to the sport of badminton which is evident in his development and results over the last few years.
Unfortunately Matthew could not attend the awards evening as he was on a School trip but his mother was able to collect the award on his behalf presented by 3 time Olympian Scott Evans.
Congratulations from Ulster Badminton on a thoroughly deserved award.
