    Leinster U17 & U13

Matthew Cheung continued his great start to the season winning the Boys Singles, Boy's Doubles and Mixed Doubles at the Leinster U17 with Laura Comer winning the U17 Girls Doubles title adding to her Ulster U17 title.

Emerging Performance Squad player Matthew have a difficult opening round in the boys singles against his doubles partner Vincent Pontanosa, who he faced in the final of the Ulster U17 singles final a few weeks earlier. However, Matthew maintained his good form at played a composed game winning 21-16, 21-17. He had a comfortable next few rounds against Frost (Terenure) & Guildea (Stamullen) to reach the final against David Downey. It was a very tight opening set and was 'nip & tuck' all the way to 20-20, but Matthew played a great few points to take the set 22-20. The second set started more smoothly for Matthew and took an early lead and maintained it to win the second set 21-17 and the first of his 3 titles!

Boys Doubles seen Matthew and Vincent have a great opening round game against Ulster's Stuart McCollam & Kildare's David Downey. It was a game of high quality with Matthew and Vincent snatching it 21-16, 21-19. Matthew & Vincent them raised their game even further in the next round and Final taking the title 21-4, 21-11 against Cooney/Noble. Strong Performance from  both players.

Matthew teamed up with Sophia Noble for the Mixed Doubles, looking to continue their good form from the Ulster Open. They had a good opening few rounds and progressed to the final were they faced Davis & McAdams who defeated the 2nd seeds of Downey/Ward in the Semi finals. The opening game of the final was a close one, with no pair really have much of a lead but Matthew & Sophia's experience of previous finals came through and took the opening set 21-18. Gaining confidence from the opening set they pressed ahead in the second game winning 21-7 and Matthew's 3rd title of the Day.

Laura Comer (Ballyclare) & partner Fiona McAdams continued their dominance of the U17 Girls Doubles event, following up their Ulster U17 win but taking the title at the Leinster U17. Seeded 2 for the event the girls had 2 solids rounds to reach the final were their played top seeds Fox/Ward. The Waterford/MT Pleasant partnership of Fox & Ward came out extremely fast in the opening set and build a big lead maintaining this through to the end of set winning 21-12. Laura & Fiona then pushed hard and played well at the end of the set to take the title 21-17 in the 3rd set.
