    Irish Schools Finals


    The All Ireland Schools final took place at Gormanstown College, Co.Meath on Wednesday 21st March with 3 Ulster Schools coming away as winners.

    The Under 14 Boys Division 1 title was a tight event with 2 of the matches  going down to total points and it went to Bangor Grammar after coming out on top against St.Colmcille’s Community School and Blackwater Community School. The team lined up with Nathan Belshaw, Jamie Lyall, Rory Patterson & Ross Fulton.

    Royal & Prior took the U14 Girls Division 1 title against St.Mary’s Naas. It was extremely close between the 2 schools drawing 3-3 in matches but Royal & Prior sneaked the match on points 147-140 and take the title home. the team consisted of: Eleanor Knox, Tara Mooney, Abi Glenn & Katie McKinley.

    RBAI took home the U16 Boys Division 1 title winning 3 matches against Rosscommon Community college, St.Kierans & Blackwater Community School. Well done to the team of Jack Livingstone, Matthew Cheung, Josh Armstrong & Ethan Hance.

    It was a great day for the Woods family in the  U19 Girls Division 1 event as the 3 sisters Rachael Woods, Rebecca Woods & Chloe Woods along with Charlotte Hutchinson lead Hunterhouse College to the title winning all their Matches against St. Anne’s Community College & StMary’s Naas.

    After winning the Ulster Schools Finals Wallace High School were competing across 3 different age groups in both boys & girls. It proved a tough day against some of the best schools in Ireland coming 3rd in U14 Boys Division 2, 4th in U14 Girls division 2 & 4th in the U16 Girls division 2.

    Hunter House also qualified a team for the U16 Girls division 2 coming 4th. Friends High school were also competing in the U19 Boys Division 1 group coming 3rd and Sullivan Upper School were just piped to the title in the U19 Boys Division 2 group by The High School finishing in 2nd place

    A great day of Schools badminton for all taking part. Fantastic to see so many Schools from Ulster Competing and coming home with titles.
