    U13 & U17 Leinster Open


    The Leinster U13 & U17 Open had a big turnout over both age groups playing in 2 venues of Baldoyle Badminton Centre & Terenure Badminton Centre on 20th-21st April.

    Ulster players had a great competition in the U17 age group with Adien Biju Joy winning the Boys singles &  Rhys McAuley & Kimberly Pearson winning the Mixed Doubles. Rhys also played well in the boys events finishing Runner up in the Boys Doubles with Partner Jeffery Rong and reaching the Semi finals in the Singles. Jeffery followed up his silver medal in the Boys doubles with another silver Medal in an all Ulster Boys singles Final. Kimberly added a runner up medal to her Mixed gold in the Girls Doubles with partner Zarah Pender.

    There were 3 more Bronze medals across the disciplines with Jearld Baiju & Amber Buchanan reaching the semi finals of the Mixed Doubles, as did Jeffery Rong & partner Hannah Shochan.  Jerald added another bronze in the Boys Doubles partnering singles winner Aiden Biju Joy, as did  Jamie Blakeman and partner Lorcan McGrane.

    In the U13 event there were a number of early round wins from Ulster players and some great performances in the latter stages but just missing out on podium positions.
