FZ Forza Irish Para Badminton Open 2018

Description

The FZ Forza Irish Para-Badminton Open 2018 will be held in National Indoor Arena in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

The event will take place between the 18th-24th June 2018.

In 2017 the FZ Forza Irish Para-Badminton Open welcomed 150 athletes from 25 nations. Across the 21 events some of our winners where as follows; Sam Seop Lee won the WH1 Men's Singles, Man Kai Chu and Chun Yim Wong from Hong Kong took the Men's Doubles SS6 & Women's Doubles SS6 and Darunee Henpraiwan & Nipada Seangsupa from Thailand won the Women's Doubles SL3-SU5.  

The Irish Para-athletes are coming into this tournament after an excellent 2017 season. One of the main highlights for the Irish squad was a successful tournament at the World Championships in South Korea with Emma Farnham winning a Silver medal in the Women's Doubles SS6. Niall McVeigh also received a Bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles SS6.The Irish athletes will be looking to take their good form into the FZ Forza Irish Para-Badminton Open 2018.

Following on from a successful 2017 Irish Para Open, Badminton Ireland are very excited about progressing the event in 2018.

Tournament Hotel: Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown

The 2018 FZ Forza Irish Para-Badminton Open tournament hotel is closely located to the National Indoor Arena. The hotel is less than a 10 minute car journey from the competition hall and provides direct links to the airport. Athletes arriving into Dublin airport can make use of the hotel's shuttle bus service which will pick up athletes who booked their accommodation with the hotel. After the success of the FZ Irish Para-Badminton Open in June 2017, athletes and coaches should anticipate a welcome stay at the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown.
