It was a fantastic weekend of international badminton action at both senior and junior level, with standout performances in Greece and Luxembourg.
Rachael Darragh and Scott Guildea captured the Hellas International Open Mixed Doubles title after an outstanding tournament in Greece. Seeded fifth, the pair produced a superb run to the championship, winning every match in straight sets and not dropping a single game on their way to claiming the Future Series title.
In the men's singles, Matthew Cheung also impressed, reaching the quarter-finals before being defeated by Dutch player Noah Hasse after a strong tournament performance.
Meanwhile, at the Luxembourg U17 International, Corey Chambers and Amira Pender enjoyed an excellent run to the mixed doubles final. The pair produced a great semi-final victory over the third seeds from Germany in three sets before eventually finishing runners-up against a strong Indonesian partnership to claim the silver medal.
In the boys' doubles event, Corey Chambers and Conor Blakeman, seeded second, recorded an impressive opening-round victory before narrowly missing out in three tight sets to a German pair in the last 16.
Great to see our players competing in and winning on the international stage!
