Disability Badminton

Disability badminton is rapidly growing in popularity and with the inclusion of Para Badminton in the 2020 Paralympic Games popularity is set to grow. There are a number of clubs within Ulster which cater for people with disability to participate in badminton at a beginner, Social & Competitive level.

There are a number of different classifications within badminton for physical, sensory and learning disabilities

Para-Badminton Sport Classes / Events

As in badminton, para-badminton athletes compete in men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Athletes are classified into “Sport Classes” to ensure fairness in competition. In para-badminton there are six Sport Classes.
