What is Affiliation?

Player Affiliation is when you become a member of Badminton Ireland through Ulster Badminton. Your club secretary has the responsibility of affiliating all club members on receipt of your Club Membership Fee.

Club

Club affiliation is when a club affiliates to Badminton Ireland through Ulster Badminton This is achieved through payment of an affiliation fee to Badminton Ireland.

We can provide guidance and support on safeguarding and welfare, to information on coaching requirements, club promotion or helping with club development. Membership Insurance

Ulster Badminton affiliated club and member activities are insured through Badminton Ireland’s brokers, Resolution Underwriting Holdings Ireland Limited Trading as SportsCover Europe or just SportsCover Europel, who have arranged cover with Sportscover Europe Limited.

Full Badminton Ireland members receive liability and personal injury insurance.

Public Liability

Public Liability insurance protects registered Badminton Ireland Members and Affiliated Clubs against claims by third parties for property damage and/or bodily injury as a result of any negligence on the part of the affiliated Club and/or its registered members. The current limit of indemnity is €6,500,000.

Professional Indemnity

Covers Badminton Ireland and persons acting on their behalf (directors, employees, committee members and volunteers(with supervisory/management roles) for legal liability in respect of breach of their professional duty and is reported to the insurer during the period of insurance and results in financial loss to a third party. The Limit of Liability on the policy is €1,300,000.

Please note only affiliated players are covered by this insurance and playing with or against non-affiliated players may void cover.

- The Public Liability policy covers meetings, badminton activities and social/fundraising activities.
- The Personal Accident Policy covers injury while training or playing badminton (Full Affiliations Only).
