FZ Forza Grade A & U11 Open
We're looking forward to welcoming players to LRC this weekend for the FZ Forza Ulster A Grade & Ulster U11 Open. With 85 entries across both competitions, it's set to be a great day of badminton, with all events being played to a finish on Saturday, 3rd October.

With the support of the BI Museum it’s a good time to reflect on the previous running of the Grade A event.
The modern day Grade A/B events are equivalent to previous Junior grade competitions.
Below is a link to a programme from the Ulster Junior tournament in 1966 which was held in Belfast's McCallum Hall and provided the opportunity for Junior ranked young and old players to compete side by side.
One notable entry was a young Barbara Beckett, although beaten in the first round, the record books show that she went on to win the Irish Senior ladies singles Nationals 9 times, the Irish Open ladies singles twice, represented Northern Ireland at the 1974 Christchurch & 1978 Edmonton Commonwealth Games and represented Ireland many times.
