    FZ Forza U15 & U19 Irish National Championship's 2023


    The FZ Forza U15 & U19 Irish National were held at Lisburn Racquets centre, 9th-10th December with Ulster players taking home 18 medals across both age groups including 4 Titles, 5 Runner ups positions & 9 Bronze Medals.

    FZ Forza U15 Irish Nationals

    Jeffery Rong continued his good form this season winning the Boys Singles and Mixed Doubles, along with a Runner up position in the Boys Doubles. Conor Blakeman and Corey Chambers played an excellent Doubles event to win the Boys doubles as the Top seeds. Conor also had a good run in the Boys Singles, defeating the 2nd Seed en route to the Semi Finals. Ella Cheung claimed a silver medal in the mixed Doubles with partner Robert Cowman, losing out to fell Ulster player Jeffery Rony & Partner Amira Pender. Emily Maxwell played well to reach the Semi final of the Girls Singles losing out to eventual winner Hannah Shochan. Emily also reached the Semi Final of the Girls Doubles with partner Aisling Heery, as did Raphoe pair Ella Thompson and Alex McAuley, to claim Bronze Medals.

    Conor Blakeman & partner Carol Joy reached the semi final of the mixed Doubles to add a bronze medal to his collection, as did Corey Chambers & partner Hannah Shochan, losing out to eventual winners Jeffery Rong & Amira Pender.

    Overall a great event for the Ulster U15 players taking home 11 medals.

    FZ Forza U19 Irish Nationals

    Laura Bell and Chloe Woods played an excellent Girls Doubles event to win the National Title. Seeded second for the event the Ulster Pair won some tight games, including a 3 set match in the Semi Final, en route to the Final. They faced fellow Ulster player Ceira Kennedy & partner Sarah Barry. The 2nd Seeds played a strong final to win 21-12, 21-19. Laura also had a very good Singles event, reaching the Final losing out in 3 tight games to Chloe McGrane.

    Paige Woods took home a silver medal in the Mixed Doubles with her partner Dylan Noble. A 3 set win in the semi Final progressed the pair into the Final to face ¾ seeds, Pranav Erukattil & Laura Heery. IT was another 3 set match with the ¾ seeds edging it 21-12 in the 3rd. Paige also reached the Semi Final of the Girls Doubles with fellow Ulster player Rosin McKenna, but unfortunately Rosin had to pull out of the Semi Final match injured. Rosin also reached the Semi Final of the Girls Singles but again had to withdraw due to injury.

    Rory Comer & partner Karl McLoughlin played a good Boys Doubles event reaching the Semi final, before losing out to eventual winners Dylan Noble & Pranav Erukattil.
