The Irish Open is part of the World and European circuit where players can earn essential world ranking and European circuit ranking points. The Irish Open has a rich history in world badminton, with Ireland being one of the founding members of the World Badminton Federation. The event has been running uninterrupted since 1902, making it one of the oldest and prestigious badminton events in the world.
The FZ Forza Irish Open is the biggest event in the Badminton Ireland Calendar. The competition sees players from across the world coming to Ireland in order to compete for crucial world ranking points. Following the success of the 2018 Irish Para Badminton Open, the 2018 Irish Open will be returning to the National Indoor Arena in Dublin on the 14th-17th November. This year the FZ Forza Irish Open will be running on the same week as the National Badminton Week.
