Ulster Badminton Juvenile Clubs and Pan Disabilities Club
This programme was set up by Ulster Badminton in 2007 with the aim of introducing more children to badminton at an early age, giving them the opportunity to play badminton in a fun and relaxed environment. Many clubs have been set up in areas where currently there is a lack of badminton clubs and others work in conjunction with the already established Ulster affiliated clubs. The programme caters for children between the ages of 6 – 17 years old. Each club is run by a Manager and each also has a Club Coach. Both these people are employed by Ulster Badminton and all coaches are qualified through Badminton Ireland. Each member, as well as having fun, receives weekly coaching from these qualified coaches with the aim of improving the individual as well as the standard of badminton across the country.

Ulster Schools' Badminton Association
The association exists to encourage young people in schools to play badminton.
In 2007-08 there were 19 secondary schools and 4 primary schools affiliated to the association. The numbers vary from year to year and it is true to say we would love to see more participating. Last year Ryan Prentice ( Ulster Badminton Development Officer) started a new initiative in primary schools and held fun days in a number of venues throughout the province. The winners went through to the finals day in Lisburn. We hope this will encourage others to become members and hence allow the association to grow.
In September, schools are sent forms and asked to identify which competitions they wish to enter. The committee then meet to make the draws and by Halloween the competitions are under way. There are 14 secondary competitions and 4 primary. The finals day is held at the National Badminton Centre, Lisburn on the 1st Friday in March and the All-Ireland finals two weeks later in Dublin. The leagues are divided into divisions 1 and 2. This means schools can be placed in the group appropriate to their playing standard.
Over the years many players have gone on to play for Ulster and Ireland. This year Chloe Magee, who was a member of many successful Royal and Prior teams, qualified for the Irish Olympic Team to play in Beijing.
The Association's aim is to continue to foster and develop this great family and competitive game.

Court Officials Group - Referees, Umpires, Line Judges, Match Control.
Like many other sports, there is a significant and increasing need for qualified officials at all levels of badminton. The Court Officials Group offers an excellent opportunity for players and non players to develop an exciting and rewarding connection with the game.
It is also keen to recruit new members to its ranks. No experience is needed - full initial training and on-going development is provided.
Training courses are run throughout the year in various locations to suit candidates or as demand dictates. Depending on experience and ambition, one can progress from local to national and world-wide international events.
